About Us

Far Bank Pre-school is a registered charity which was formed in 1981 and is based within the grounds of Shelley First School in Shelley. This highly rated pre-school is an essential community resource for parents and children alike, providing daily care and education for children from the age of 2½ until they go to school.

The pre-school is currently housed in a module that is well over 20 years old and well passed repairing. We are therefore trying to initially raise £70,000 for a new building,  the project as a whole could cost upto £150,000.

We are appealing for help both nationally and locally for donations to help purchase the building. Once the building is in place we will need skilled labour to help fit it out for use as a pre-school.

Whilst the current building is not in the best of condition externally, the children are still cared for in a friendly nurturing atmosphere that they enjoy and thrive on.

Once we have a new building we are hoping to provide breakfast and after school care for school age children with the possibility of hosting  other after school activities for the children of Shelley
